This one was written in the early summer of 2021.
I had the main melody knocking on the door of my power pop wheelhouse, complete with odd time signatures on the verses.
This can be a guilty pleasure when it comes to writing songs from a drummers perspective.... seeking the odd time signature occasionally to keep things interesting.
This time the feel I tapped into while on the guitar fell right into my lap.
The synth melody seemed to develop from the vocal melody in the chorus.
The lyrics were also inspired by some deep self reflection on the landscape of personal growth and hopeful transformation.

And for extra inspiration, I had just finished reading an article with a rare Paul Westerberg interview.

It's gratifying when things come together like this!
