As the mornings and evenings were getting colder with the end of the year coming to the end of the trail, I sat at the piano and this one just landed in my lap. The vibe was mellow and another winter song was revealing itself to me.
I watched the leaves slowly fall from the tree in my backyard as the day lingered on and the idea of the circle of life came into my head. (I must admit I did think of my mother who left this realm a few years back).
Thoughts on the changing seasons and the changes we can find ourselves experiencing on different levels seemed to drive the theme. How we adapt to change and remain positive perhaps being one of the more challenging things in life had found its way into the song.

Tracking this tune was a moment of pure joy as I went to the Mellotron after getting a solid piano and vocal track while attempting to keep the drum part as simple as possible.
I brought in Owen Adair Kelley on Acoustic Guitar and Bass and Myles Boisen on Pedal Steel to round out the sound.
I am beside myself with gratitude to have these cats laying it down for the final go around!

I hope you enjoy this single as it's my last release of the year.
And what a year it's been!
